We have recently had our first Family History Weekend for which people traveled to us from as far away as Somerset, Sussex, Derbyshire and many other parts of the country.
It was a great weekend if you had ancestors in Thurlby, Baston and Langtoft ( The Ness Group) and were trying to trace your roots.
St Firmin’s reclaimed, for the weekend only, all it’s Parish Records from the Lincolnshire Archives – our earliest register was dated 1554 and wasn’t the easiest register to read.
We also had on show an amazing collection of photos, about 800 in total, of the village and its people, some of the photos date back to the late 1800′s – they are a fascinating record of life in our village.
